Northolt park racecourse history. History of northolt park racecourse. founded largely by a single entrepreneur and supported by some famous (and at least one infamous) members of the english racing estabishment, it opened in the spring of 1929. in the 1930s, it was the successful national centre for new sport of pony racing in the uk. it closed early in the second world war and a housing estate was built on it in the 1950s.
