Opera Integra also provides experience for singers who have sung in choral societies and would like to venture into the world of opera. Opera choruses are, on the whole, less technically difficult than much oratorio work; the difficulty, and the fun, is in combining singing with movement and acting. Because there is ample time for rehearsal, sight singing ability is not essential, though the ability to learn a part by heart is. Chorus singers are encouraged to progress to solo roles and there is no distinction made between soloists and chorus members.
